I went into this book quite hesitantly. Though it was given to me for review, I pushed it off for as long as I possibly could because some of the books that I’ve read recently have been quite lackluster.

It’s going to be a very vague review because I can’t tell you too much without giving away the story and you wouldn’t want me to ruin a completely good story…..right?!?

Once I read the entire series, I’ll post my entire review with a spoiler alert.

Well I was wrong. The Days (Jessica & Jude) are two siblings…fraternal twins who have to fake their death because their father was a government agent who was killed and so was their mom. See why I wasn’t excited about reading the book?

But it’s so much more than that. She writes the book well. It’s a book full of flashbacks and they are done at the correct time and they help to fully flesh out the characters and explain their present actions. I’ve automatically fallen in love with Jessica. How could you not? She’s feisty, sassy, smart, and can defend herself.

She’s a true heroine. Not a damsel in distress that needs a millionaire CEO to rescue her from the pitfalls of life. Jessica can break your nose and isn’t afraid to do it. She’s my type of girl.

The first book of the Jack & Jill series does focus heavily on Jessica with Jude playing a supporting character. However, I’m sure that as the series progresses you’ll be able to get into Jude’s head as well. I certainly hope so.

The story takes time to flesh out and get deep into the Day’s story but sit back and enjoy the ride because you’re going to enjoy the pitter patter of the roller coaster going up before it crashes you down into this impressive tale.

I want to tell you it’s a love story but I can’t because it’s so much more. It’s a story about two siblings finding themselves and dealing with whatever comes their way. Maybe I love it because on some base level I can relate (and the two main male characters are quite amazing in my book).

If you’re looking for a well written, nicely developed story that has good plot lines and interesting characters, then this is the series for you.

I will continue reading the series and post my thoughts here regardless of whether I get them for review or not.
